These two ladies are great,… and fun!
I look forward to capturing the day they get to share their vows with each other, in front of the people they love.
In the mean time.. enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session:

Remember Kristen (and Eric) Martin???
Introducing the newest addition to their family – the adorably handsome Jackson Wyatt:
sooooo handsome (ALREADY)!
Thank you Kristen and Eric, for introducing me to that lovely little man of yours!
This is part deux of the post from our L.A day trip a few weekends ago.
Welcome to the world (or L.A..particularly a snapshot of Forest Lawn, and then the LACMA) as seen through Jason and Chantal’s eyes…or as I like to call it “his&hers”
Forest Lawn:
LACMA:
If you haven’t been to the LACMA you should check it out. It’s a fancy-fun time.
..not yet at all the end.
Last weekend Jason and I took a little trip up to Los Angeles, just to get away for the day.
Being an L.A. native, I seem to take for granted how wonderful L.A actually is. Yes the dreadful traffic is very unappealing, and places seem to be so spread out. But it is home to more than half of my (extended) family, and to my sister where her spirit laid to rest 26 years ago, at Forest Lawn in Hollywood.
This is a small tribute to her. To the sister I barely new but have always loved – it is because of you that I strive to be a better daughter, niece, cousin and (girl) friend.
I had the pleasure of taking some fun portraits of my friend Virginia.
She wanted some photos taken of her – 1. for her mom (so sweet) and 2. because she turned 30 and feels pretty good,.. so why not document it?!
Look #1 – city sleek:
I loved the contrast of her fancy lipstick…
…All smiles. BIG, contagious smiles…
Look #2 – country-sweet….
she is a nerd at heart, which is one of my favorite things about her.
…and a talented little painter!
Thank you Virginia, for such a fun shoot! I loved the two different styles we accomplished, and not to mention that you can pull off.
I hope your 30s is the best decade of your life!
…He’s gonna buy me a diamond ring…
check out more lovely photos from this shoot here…..
accompanied with photos from our (mock) wedding portraits, with one of the most good-looking couples I know!
A few months ago I had the honor of shooting Kristen Martin’s very first maternity photos. Actually, this was her and her husband, Eric’s (and their adorable dog, Leyla) first photo shoot ever. Considering that fact, I’d say they all warmed up to the camera very well.
They are such a nice couple, and truly love each other. It’s so sweet.
We had initially decided to do an outdoor shoot. But, at a rare chance, it rained. So we did the shoot at my house. Kristen wanted something warm and cozy, and intimate. I think her and Eric did quite well on achieving that:
I love this one:
…and then the rain stopped for a bit…
Thank you so very much to the Martins! It was a pleasure photographing you both.
Can’t wait to meet your baby boy when he is here.
“Mock wedding” portraits with the lovely Mike-and-Laura.
They exchanged vows 2 years ago, but continue to live those words every day.
{Lovely bouquet by Erin Lynch -Bloomin’ Stems}
A HUGE ‘thank you’ to Mike and Laura for being my lovely models, and helping me (re)create such beautiful photos. Want to see more? Click here…
Laura, your dress is gorgeous; you are gorgeous! Mike, it NEVER gets old.
…if only.
One of my favorite lyrics from Peter Pan’s “I Won’t Grow Up” song -
“If growing up means
It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree,
I’ll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
Not me!”
These fun and adorable girls (and boy) capture the essence of how I’d like to stay, at heart, forever!
Muchas gracias señor Guero, for inviting me into your home, and for your family feeding me some of the tastiest menudo I’ve ever had!
Remember: You’re only as old (or as young) as you feel!
Mister Ryan Acain has been a wonderful co-worker, mentor, and friend to me through out the past 4 years.
The foundation and growing curiosity of my photography is in thanks to him, who taught me everything he knows.
Ryan used to be a little “out of shape” when we first met. But now, after a strict diet and boxing training, he is a lean-mean-fighting-machine!
I finally got him to be *in front* of the camera, which isn’t always easy for a photographer to do.
…obviously Ryan is a natural…
The next Manny Pacquiao (minus the attempted singing career)
AND THEN… there is dapper Ryan. (This is how Ryan dresses to come into work, even though it is in no way enforced or required)
“I’m shy” he says… yeah right!
Be proud of these photos Mister Acain. A. Because you’re lookin’ good, brother. B. These photos are made possible because of everything you taught me. And C. You will have living proof that you were once a model (wink).
Thank you for everything!
